Let me make it clear about the requirements, before i start the procedure to Unlock iPhone 3GS.
Requirements:
Wi-Fi Access Point
Latest version of Apple iOS (Example. Apple iOS4.1)
MAC or PC with iTunes installed
For fresh iPhone 3GS, Its a compulsory situation to make the iPhone connect initially to a MAC or PC with iTunes to initialize profile and settings of iPhone. Once finishing the profile like iPhone Device name, Sync profile settings are done, now iPhone is ready to get unlocked.
Here are the simple steps that you can follow to make your iPhone 3GS unlocked:
Turn ON the Wi-Fi module of your iPhone through Settings icon and make it Connect with the available Access Point.
After connecting to Wi-Fi Access Point, come back to main menu and choose Safari Web-Browser.
In the Address space make an INPUT : “http://www.jailbreakme.com” and Choose GO.
Once after finishing the page load, the browser will prompt an option to Download a file, Just go ahead and Download it. (FYI. If you visit this website in PC browser, the file cannot be downloaded. The prompt for Download appears only, if the page is visited through an iPhone Safari Browser)
Once the download is finished, Install the application, once prompted. For Downloading and Installing, It would take 3-5minutes, So just Relax and Wait, Just a Jail Breaking rite !
Installation should have been over by now. To check the installation is good, Just see the main menu, you will find an new application “CYDIA”.
Now choose “CYDIA” and once done, just wait for few minutes to make it update. After the application get updated, a message will be prompted to choose from three option for General User, Professional and Developer. Any one three option can be choosen, as it cannot affect the iPhone Unlocking.
Once done with those options, Now choose Manage option, it will be at the bottom menu of CYDIA application. In that Choose “Sources” option. You can see few URL already on it.
Look for the source URL “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com”, Choose that URL and select the EDIT option at top right and then make an INPUT URL “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com”. (FYI. in “ultrasn0w” the 8th letter in not Alphabet “o”, its numerical zero “0″)
Now Choose “DONE”, the URL is saved. On the other page, you can see an option “Install/Modify”, choose the option and Confirm the action. It takes few minutes to download and Jailbreak your iPhone, I mean Unlock your iPhone.
Once done, Now your iPhone is Unlock but this works only after a RESTART of your iPhone 3GS. Turn OFF the iPhone, install your local SIM, turn it ON and wait for few min, let it find the home network. Now the iPhone 3GS unlocking is complete.
